remote car starter not working
remote car starter not working
so my car starter that is an option on my car wont work all that happens is the parking lights flash. i never had a problem with it before any ideas. 2008 lt2.
Same exact thing happened to mine.
The issue with mine was that there was a loose connection that had something to do with the hood/hood latch. The car/remote will not start (and do exactly what you're saying yours is doing) if the hood of the car is not closed all the way. Something came loose or went faulty, and "relayed" to the remote starter that my hood was still open (when infact it was closed). They replaced/repaired the issue, and it works fine now. I dropped the car off around 8 a.m. and it was ready by 3 p.m. that same day.

Installed any parts that would throw a CEL? My CEL came on immediately after installin CAI and this happened, removed negative battery cable and CEL was gone, therefore remote start works. Type of engine protection if CEL is on or something
yea wish i had read the post above me before i took it down
. lol i only had my set of keys so he said that they cant do anything with that now. but im still getting my inspection and the belt squelingSP? problem looked at so the trip wasnt a total loss.
I'm telling you - It's a faulty hood or trunk latch. It happened to me. If you're under warranty, bring it in and they'll fix it in a day. It's happened twice to me, both times it was the hood. It is programmed to NOT start via remote if there is a short thats relaying that the trunk or hood isn't closed.
Take it to the dealer.
Take it to the dealer.
so is the kinda thing that i need to get fixed 1-2 times a year?
i have an appt but if theres a fix that i wont have to keep going to get it replaced that be prime guess i just need to wait till my appt and see what there saying.
faulty hood latch, door switch, trunk switch, you wait to long after hitting lock before hitting start, you didnt hit lock before start, it got turned off in the DIC, etc........
the dic is deffintaly turned on it just started doing it i used it for most of the winter and just last week it stoped. maven is this something i can fix or reprogram or is there new parts involved ie. warrenty work?
well if its turned on and youre sure youre doing it right it sounds like you need a dealer.
