Reverse lights won't turn off
Reverse lights won't turn off
(2.4 SS, 5 Speed)
Got a bunch of highbeam flashes on the highway, so I pulled over, found out my reverse lights won't turn off.
I turn it off, back on, no diff. I watch the lights in a glass window, I shift her out of reverse, the reverse lights go off for a quick second and then they come back on. Shift her into 5th, lights stay on.
Now I only have 7000 KM on her. So I know it'll be a warrenty job, the question I got is...
1) Anyone know how long she would be in the dealership for repairs? Is it a long fix. Is it a reverse light sensor on the gear shift?
Thanks.

I have an appointment booked for Wednesday morning. I'll let you know how it turns out.
I figured this would have been a common thing, but a search on this page did not bring up anything close to what I've got going on.

Well its fixxed now.
I got off early on Tuesday, so I went to the Dealership. They couldn't replicate the problem. When I left, the reverse lights were not on.
10 minuites down the road, I get hauled over by a cop who tells me my reverse lights are on. He warned me, almost gave me a ticket.
I called the Dealership FREAKING OUT. They tell me "Sorry, the mechanics leave at 4:30"(It was 4:45PM). I said, well I don't want a ticket, told them about the cop. I asked for a rental, they said "sorry our rental office is now closed, come back in tomorrow and we'll have a look".
I said "what if I get pulled over again". He didn't know what to say.
So I go home, go in the next day, this time they found the problem, which is a switch. they replaced it and now it's okay again.
I'm at work right now, but if you all want the exact switch and info off the repair sheet, I'll go get it on my next break.
