Revving too High

Does anyone know if the intense reflash has a limiter to cut fuel off after 7000 rpm, because I just took my car to about 6800 rpm in third gear and went to shift into fourth, but accidentally shifted into second. My shifter will not go into fourth gear unless I shift very slowly. I realized the car was revving too high immediately and never even let the clutch out all the way thank goodness. I just pushed it back in and slowly shifted to fourth. The thing I am worried about is the check engine light that I saw flash for a split second during this. It hasn't come back on since and the car seems to be running just fine. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do any damage to the engine.

Thumbs up

probably blew her up j/k

i dont think shifting into a low gear is a good thing you could have hurt something take it to autozone and get the code cleared sowhen you take it to the dealer they dont know.

Your car stores CEL's even if you dont know it for example: my bro got on a dyno then he had problems so he took it in to dealer they said he had a cel internally because his fron 2 wheels were moving but his rear tires were not pretty much he was either doing a burn out or a dyno

A fuel cutoff will not keep your engine from over-revving if you drop it into a lower gear on accident. At that point, physics > computers. On that note, if it was a quick as you say, there is not likely any permanent damage. That could depend on how high the engine actually revved, though. If it seems fine, and still drives normal without any new noises, etc, you should be ok.

yea, hopefully you did catch it in time.....If not hello floating valve springs!! I would have that checked out because my friend did that to a celica and it wasn't pretty......$1200 later and lots of parts.....that was doing it himself too.
