Angry Roof-Mounted air bag recall

Just got a letter in the mail today for a safety recall. The recall is for vehicles not equipped with the optional roof-mounted side impact airbags fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 201.

If you don't take it in, it won't get fixed. At this point I'm not doing it. If you look in some of the other threads you can see its just a little piece of plastic. Also, from what I was told it is only a problem in a rollover if you are not wearing a seatbelt. I don't want to give them any chance to screw something up. Plus I have the 2-pod a-pillar and don't want them messing with it. There is a slight chance I'll have it done when I get the stage 2 kit installed, if they bring it up.

Yeah, I got the same letter today. To bad I can't drive to dealer when my car is on jack stands with the head 20 miles away in pieces
Plus, just like RJSS, I don't want the dealer screwing with my 2 gauge pillar pod. I can just imagine getting it back with the wideband cracked or not working

No, I think its just a little piece of plastic or foam thats placed underneath the head liner to protect your dome from the sheet metal roof in case of an accident.

I don't see a reason for them to hook into the ECU. They will just be installing a piece between the headliner and the roof of the car.

I don't think I am going to bring mine in for this.

They shouldn't hook your car up the the computer. It's not necessary to do the campaign.

The G5's are not included in the campaign.
