when my car starts up more so recently than prior, it seems to mis-fire, but no code populates

i switch it off and back on a few or turn it on and rev high for few seconds until it goes back to normal. once it warmed up it drives normal.

usually only cold start ups it idles rough/knocks/mis-fires. could it be an ignition coil back going out?

i've changed the spark plugs 3 times since i've had the car it at approx 125,000 miles
probably time to change it again anyway (yes you may think its waste of money do maintenance too early when its not required but its normal for me)

always have been using full synthetic oil, periodically high octane/premium gas, and well as fuel injector cleaner.

does anyone have any ideas?

 

Could be vvt cam solenoids. That's what mine started doing just before it started throwing codes.

 

Clean the throttle body to start, if they are very gummed up they have a hard time managing idle when cold.

What engine?

 

that i did last week throttle body is clean now, 2.2 liter
