This S**t is so annoying

Ok so here is the deal guys. My car is pretty much stock with a Injen Cold Air Intake and the ECU was re-flashed by ZZP earlier this summer. So yesterday a massive wind a rain storm hit here in MI and as I was getting on the highway I was in 2nd gear accelerating and as I hit about 3k rpms the car felt as if it stalled and the car seemed like it jolted forward but I could not accelerate anymore until I took my foot off the gas and re-accelerated or until I shifted into the next gear. But then again as I shifted into the next gear and started accelerating again as I got to 3-4k rpms the car did the same damn thing. Could this be spark plug blowout or could my intake have something to do with this? As in maybe the filter became submerged or sucked up some water?

Sounds like you need a rain shield.

I had the same problem. Took the filter off, cleaned it, ran some cleaner through my fuel system and ran it as hard as I could get it to. 4 or 5 2nd-3rd pulls and it was golden from then on.

I've also had a spark plug blowout, that would have resulted in a horrible, and I mean ******* horrible knock. Not just through 3k-4k either, I mean the whole way through.
Clean your filter, run fuel system cleaner through it just incase, and run that bitch. It'll fix itself.

And also, this.
If you somehow buggered up installing your intake and cracked your splashguard/broke a pin (like I did ) a rainshield would be a great suggestion.

Water is on your MAF.

When that happens it floods the engine for quick seconds. Ive seen readings of 75 lb/min for flow

Yes it does. But do it too much and the MAF will fail and flood the engine....happened to me.

Doing WOT pull and then BAM no power. Lucky it didnt wash the rings. Failed when it was dry too

Boom.
OP, there's your answer.
It fixes yourself, take your slap on the peepee, take this knowledge and use it for the greater good!
Best of luck!

Could you please move the thread for me then and I just ordered one from Turbo Tech. Also what's the easiest way to dry the MAF?

I always thought this could happen so I wrapped the hole in the fender well with a thick piece of rubber. I will check though and let you guys know.

Thanks again guys for all the feedback and hopefully I can fix this damn issue now

Had this happen when I rushed cleaning my filter. Pulled the maf and let it sit overnight afer shaking it out pretty good. No problem after.
