smokes when shifting
is it smoking from the engine, or from the exhaust??? cause from under the hood is a bad thing, from the exhaust would be running rich, but i dont know why you would see smoke in between shifts from the exhaust.
yeah mine smokes everytime i shift. it happens with all rich burning cars. its alot of built up going throw the headers, so its forced out all at once...
if you pay attention to older turbo cars with high PSI they spot alot of sult out
its normal... now of u smell somthing cooking, then yeah you should b worried

smokes between shifts
I went to the dealer this week and they said it was burning rich and not to worry about it.The car has only 4210 miles on it.Does anyone else have the same thing going on?

Someone runnin a lil too rich..lol...Flames huh?? Damn, remind me not to drive behind you.
Black smoke is the car running rich and bootin out built up carbon. White smoke is burning oil, not good.I believe white is burning oil, either oil or anti-freeze, but pretty sure it's your car burning oil.

Oil burns white smoke, water will be more like steam, white but it will evaporate soon after coming out the exhaust, it will not linger in the air. Black smoke at idle is a serious problem, like a cylinder not firing. You will see some black smoke under throttle, but not idling.
