Question ??Some Prolems??

ok i have some minor problems with my 06 cobalt ss s/c...

1. my ebrake doesnt do ****.. i can pull it rolling and they wont even lock up.. it barely holds me when parking on a slant..

2. my sun roof is a lil poped out on the outside.. it doesnt leak but it looks bad..

3. my button 4 my sun roof doesnt work very well at all.. when i push it i gets pushed up into the head liner and is hard 2 use.. and the plastic peice arounf it fell of and wont even stay on even with 3m tape.

Has anyone else had these problems if so let me know how u fixed them

THANKS AGAIN

See the how-to section for an explanation on e-brake adjustment.

No sunroof FTW!

the sunroof will be slightly popped up on the sides and the bezel and button just need to be reinstalled according to gm's updated fix for it and its good to go

My ebrake does the same thing. I think it's normal like that from the factory, probably has to be adjusted alot. I can start driving and not even know it's on until it starts beeping

The parking brake on the disc brake cars is a shitty design - not near as effective as the drum setup and will loosen up as the brakes cool after parking
Adjust them anyway but don't expect to lock them up on pavement - I can barely get mine to lock on gravel

I know I have seen something in here on adjusting the sunroof, 6 or 8 screws that hold the glass onto the moving parts and allow some adjustment....can't seem to find it though

The bezel on the switch seems to have fallen off of half the cars on here, there is an updated fix available - if you still are under warranty it should be covered, if not - glue the **** out of it

me and my dad made a new custom bracket.. and screwed it in to the old bracket and liner.. then held up the cream colored thing with some 3M tape.. sits a lil lower but holds on good now no problems.. ohh we had to modify the actual button a lil for clearence issues...

this is random but how come r headliners are not black... it would look so much better

i wish i had another cobalt to do this too. its quite simple to do the fix.

if you look at the bezel the clips have a flat surface, if you look at the retaining bracket the tabs that the bezel clip into are angled, bend the tabs on the bracket so that they are flat and reinstall into headliner.

a tip that makes things easier is take the retaining bracket off out of the headliner by straightening the 4 tabs off the headliner, pull the headliner down a bit from the sunroof opening and pull the bracket out. make your adjustments and install the opposite way you took it out.
