Something Wrong with My Car
Something Wrong with My Car
So I noticed this a week or 2 ago.. I have switched to my Injen CAI about a month or 2 from now which is my only mod. I have had a CEL light go off an on all the time and still doign the same. The problem with my car is not always occuring but sometime when Im just drivign or switching into a gear its like my car feels like its not getting enough fuel and wants to die or something.. Ill be driving and then the car starts like bogging like its lack of gas.. and Im not sure what could be causing this.. All I have is a cai and I did do one thing after the CAI which was before the problem started, which was reset the auxilery power by disconnecting the batter liek someone told me to do. (which didnt even reset anything) but if any ideas on what could be wrong that would be great thanks
Reset the auxilary power? What the hell is that? I have no idea what the issue could be with your engine bogging unless there is a blockage or leak with your installation.

I was told that the auxillery power is what is left in some part of the engine (where the power terminal is) and by keeping the car going for a few minutes is suppose to get rid of all that power and reset the MAF which will let it learn the new intake.. again this could be a total hoax but I was told to try that and nothing at all happend.. but as for leakage Ill have to check that out thanks.. I just dotn know why its takign this long for it to start leaking.. but hopefully it is something simple

I have the same problem with the cel but the engine doesnt bog down. i have noticed that my light comes on when the air temp is below 35 degrees. Then it will go out when the temp rises and goes through three driving cycles without coming on. I hope that helped out.

I bought new spark plugs to see if that would help any with the cel or the bogging, but havent had the chance to put them in yet because of lack of tools lol. but I dont even know how good this plugs are I just bought them fast because I was in a hurry to get rid of this bogging and these were teh best they had which are Splitfires

I tryed searching too.. I couldn't find the article about it gummign up the fuel lines but I did find this... http://www.local6.com/automotive/3378460/detail.html
Spend a little extra and run the sunoco 94..... have never had a problem with it, and everyone with performance lives by it (for street use that is)
Too bad sunoco 94 isnt available everywhere yet.

the way to do that, is unhook the battery, then depress the brakes to use all up the rest of the energy in the car

I happend to find a Sunoco and it was right next to my work lol.. unforunetly it doesnt offer anything higher than 93 Octane. but Ill go with that since IM hearing these bad things about shell now

Yeah, I get the CEL every now and then with my Fujita. I've only experienced bogging if I'm in Cruise Control going down hill. Luck for me... I have the Mac tools CODE READER! Too Lean, that is the code I hate the most... I went a good 3000 miles with out it once. But here in the last month it's popped up a good 10-15 times... and it's usually when I'm cruising... not when I'm on the trottle, not when I let off... cruising between 2250 and 2750 rpm. Pisses me off. GM has a performance intake for the 2.2... I don't know why they don't have one for the SuperSweet Supercharged driver like ourselves.
Getter better quality gas in your car is better than getting a higher octane, otherwise it don't matter the octane. (other than the obvious of putting premium in a mandatory premium gas car aside of course)
Unless you're running some serious boost or NOS, not much point in paying more for higher octane. Getting better gas mileage with premium is credited to higher octane gases usually being cleaner.
