Actually you go to a colder plug with a tighter gap.

Yeah, .42 is practically half an inch. The factory gap is 0.04

Those plugs are good, but with the smaller pully I would definitely gapp them at .028 you need to close the gap of the spark plug. As compression increases, a colder heat range plug is required, as well as higher octane fuel and paying careful attention to ignition timing and air/fuel ratios are also necessary. Advancing timing by 10° causes plug temperature to increase by approximately 70°C to 100°C.

Something many do not know, is that with Higher Compression ratios and Superchargers as well as Nitrous, in many cases smaller spark plug gaps must be used as well as the use of a much hotter ignition system. These higher cylinder pressures require more energy to jump the spark plug gap.

Proper gapping of the spark plug is necessary to get maximum spark energy, lowest RFI release as well as what is best for the longevity of the secondary ignition components (coil, cap, rotor, wires, plugs).

Let me know how your HP Tuner goes for you. I already have a laptop and the GMPP Stage 2 but wonder aloud if I can get more. Some folks say no others in the know say yes. I think I can make a decent gain out of using the tune. Let me know if it is user friendly and has some guidelines.

Also I am going with NGK Iridium IX. What should I gap those to with GMPP Stage 2 3.0"? *pulley, injectors and GM reflash for those living new or living in a box*

I keep hearing around .030. Do they come pre-gaped to the correct spec? Even if they do I always double check my plugs.

Thanks!

Yes one other thing. Any benefit to updating the wires or are the stock wires just enough or already top of the line?

The LSJ doesnt have spark plug wires . It uses 4 individual coil packs with the spark plug boot integrated into the coil pack .

Those are some nice numbers on the dyno. Yeah I am seeing anything from .030 to .045 for recomendations. Thanks for the info.

Is there a consensus though for proper gap on these Iridium Plugs if running a 3" or smaller pulley?

how are you guys not breaking electrodes when attempting to gap iridiums? you're really not suppose to because of how brittle they are

Spark Plug Replacement
Removal Procedure
Notice: This engine has aluminum cylinder heads. Do not remove the spark plugs from a hot engine, allow it to cool first. Removing the spark plugs from a hot engine may cause spark plug thread damage or cylinder head damage.

Remove the ignition coils . Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .

Important: Remove any water and debris from the spark plug holes before spark plug removal with compressed air.

Remove the spark plugs with a spark plug socket.
Inspect the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug Inspection .
Installation Procedure
Gap the spark plug, using round wire type spark plug gap gage.
Gap

Adjust the spark plug gap to 1.0 mm (0.040 in).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Important: DO NOT coat the spark plugs with anti-seize compound. Over torquing could occur and damage to the cylinder head threads may result.

Install the spark plugs with a spark plug socket.
Tighten
Tighten the spark plugs to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

Install the ignition coils . Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement .
