Speed Sensor, Speedometer Gauge Not Working!
Ok, My speedometer is not working, only the speedometer and nothing else in the gauge cluster. Hptuners doesn't even show speed so i figure the sensor is broken, fried or the wires to it are loose. Anyone know where our speed sensor is located or whether there could be another problem? Does it run off of the ABS sensors?
i searched around for a while and i couldn't find out where our speed sensor is located. I've been doing some major surgery on my header and i may have pulled something out or accidentally ripped a wire loose. Getting the header in required unbolting the steering rack, sway bar and rear trans mount in order to wedge it in the tight space.
I haven't messed with the interior lately so i don't think the cluster is the problem. I did replace the fuel injectors though. Anyone, Please help, i can guess my speed with the rpms and gear, but it still bothers me especially when i'm trying to get my 60s running right.
Also, before this happend my car battery died because it was sitting for so long and i jumped it and maybe i could have fried a fuse or relay or something, but i can't find any reference in my cobalt manuals to the speed sensor. THanks

Theres a speed sensor on every single wheel. Thats how your ABS knows when to go on as well. Check both of your front sensors. They are behind the rotors.
