squeaking ar start up/all the time

i have a hampster somewhere on a wheel! at start up it makes this squeaking noise like a rodent on a wheel...i rev it up and its still making that noise...i stop at a red light and its still making that noise! its all the time now...it doesnt get louder or faster, its not a consistant squeaking either...its sounds like its coming from the engine area, not sure where...it started after my n/a SS idled really wierd one day...ive already posted a thread on that...no mods to the engine b4 the wierd idling...after the noise started, ive installed an injen CAI and a dcsports front strut bar...i want to take the car in, but will either the strut bar or CAI void my warranty?

No they won't (shouldn't) void the warranty. Take it in and have them check out your car.

Squeeking

Mine has started this lately. I believe it is due to the moist air. The belts get a little damp and squeek.

Good luck!

Was going to say, sounds like a belt squeak. Have them check it, maybe they can fix it maybe it'll go away on its own.

THIS HAS BEEN COVERED ...it will not be covered under waranty if the problem is proven to be a direct cause of your mods ....If its not related to your mods then you have no problem at all

correct, it has been.
Magnuson-Moss Act is the reference, hence my reply 'won't (shouldn't)'. Yes, they have to prove the problem is a direct result of the modification. It might be a belt squeek or a bearing going out. Those are 2 items that any dealership would be hard pressed to prove came from a CAI or the strut bar. If he said he had changed the pulley, that'd be totally believable and I could see the dealership refusing to honor the warranty.

Although, we won't know until he takes it in.

I have a squeking but it is my blower fan. It started with the cold weather so I think it is moisture. turn your blower all the way off then all the way on and see if it makes a difference.

talking to the salesman might give you an idea....although I'd try the service manager.
