SS/TC Rear Brakes.
there we go, pics. hmm ya those pads are kinda fucked up. Im ordering 2 piece rotors and new pads so i should just swap the rears too then. You guys know I was being sarcastic in my post right? lol i try to show that by the

When you do your rotor swap I would defiantly suggest cleaning and greasing the caliper bolts. This may not be the whole problem but its a big chuck of it. There is something fishy going on with these pads to.
If you are lucky enough to not have this happen then I'd wait till they're worn out to replace them.
naw I gotta track my SS so the stock crap wont be on anyway...well the pads will be swapped out in the rear at least. the driving style claim works for some instances of brake pad/rotor failure, but usually results in a warped rotor and most likely on our front. When spring comes and My car is out of storage I need to rotate tires anywho Ill check the rears out and see I havent heard any thing but I beat the **** out of my car...maybe they like that more
I just took the rear brakes apart because the rotors were grooved and the inside pad was worn twice as bad as the outside. The car only has 5000miles.
Found 4 things that kinda made me think if the whole brake assembly is garbage.
1 My caliper bolts were not sticking and had a good amount of lube but there is no rubber boots that cover the entire caliper bolt so part of it is exposed.
2 The pad had a large amount of metalic content
3 There was only a couple of SMALL points touching on the sliding parts of the pad. If those get a little rusty they wont slide very well or even worse if you use the parking brake every time like you should the rusty slide portion wont let the pads release fully.
4 The parking brake cable puts alot of pressure against the whole caliper. Not great when you have a floating caliper.
I dont think GM will recall the brakes because the design is crap. They arent going to change entire brake assemblys.

If GM made a brake upgrade for the rears, I would jump on it in a second. There is a lot of theories out there about what causes the unusual wear. I know I don't brake hard, mostly use engine braking, and the rotors have worn and have been resurfaced once already. It's not from driving too hard or driver error. Maybe if they put a fixed caliper on there the pads would wear evenly.
I just dropped my car off today at the dealership with this problem at 3151 miles. Hopefully I will get it back tomorrow with no problems. There is no way in hell that they can tell me that my grooved rotors are normal wear at 3000 miles. That they even had to keep it overnight is bullshit. I took it in at 2pm today to get the brakes fixed and for them to check a code (P2178 System to rich at cruise or accel). So I should leave there tomorrow with new brakes and a new MAF sensor, but somehow I doubt that will happen.
