SS/TC reliability compared to SS/SC

I'm considering trading in my 2006 SS/SC for a 2008 or 2009 SS/TC.

I've read and searched a little but I am curious if we are finding if the SS/TC is more reliable, less or the same. I had a couple of problems that were annoying and have one now with the front strut which will be fixed under extended warranty but just curious how the quality build is.

Thanks!

only problems really is the chargepipes break sometimes and when you mod people have been having problems with the map sensor. but other than that nothing really. i had a s/c cobalt and when it comes to moding the tc is more reliable to holding higher hp than the s/c.

Okay, so with the cobalt being out for a while and the LNF engine being out for a while in the Solstic/Sky and HHR all the bugs seem to be worked out is what I am hearing.

The only downside is I am going to miss my recaro seats if I trade up.

The Recaros are real nice, but the SS/TC's seat are pretty nice themselves. SS/TC has come a long way to improve the foundation the SS/SC laid down. My buddy Broc's SS/TC responded real well to a few minor mods and a tune, and it is a real nice car overall compared to my SS/SC.

Sounds like it may be worth checking out my financing options. I would love to get a Camaro 2SS with RS but that is over 35K. I could swing it but is still a lot of money I could put into other things in life.

Thanks for the info folks.

any other comments out there?

I would say they are both equally reliable.

I've never sat in a SS/SC with the Recaros but just from looking at pics, the TC's seats look just as good. Feel, I dunno, but everyone that I've had in my car comments how nice the seats are. If that's the only thing really holding you back, I say go for it.

Based on?......Reason I ask like that is there seems to be some trouble spots with the SS/SC I.E weak clutch struts giving up per a few TSB's my EBCM and some quality control issues with 2005 and 2006's especially.

They seem great from a shape standpoint and look like they should be supportive, but they are cloth with ultra lux correct? Mine are leather and look HOT.

I could live with the seats I just maybe need to go out and sit in one.

Also how linear is the power? I presume it is linear with the 2000 RPM for peak TQ. I just wonder how the throttle response is compared to the SC

Only issues I had in the ss/sc that affected the actual driving experience would be the clutch sensor failing twice...both times needed a tow to the dealership, since it wouldn't start.

T/C has been flawless so far except for my turning signal not turning off automatically on right turns. Even the interior squeaks and rattles are less, although a few are still there.
