Starting and stalling (2.0LSJ)

I've just recently bought a 2007 cobalt ss sc, I drove it an hour home and everything was fine, ran good. However the other day and today I ran the scanner and got codes P0102-mass or air flow circuit, low input and P0036- heater control circuit, bank 1 sensor 2. I bought the MAF and installed it today, also got the 02 sensor and will install when I have access to some jack stands.. now when I start the car it turns right on and revs up to near 2k, when it goes down the car dies. Any ideas? The previous owner think a it is the wires that connect to the MAF. If anyone has had any similar experiences let me know, thanks.

Did you clear the codes after installing the new sensors? Are you still tripping the MAF code? A MAF not having proper connection can definitely prevent your car from idling properly. Your 02 sensor shouldn't be affecting much on startup I don't think.

On the LSJ the idle should be in VE mode not MAF mode. I would check for vacuum leaks, a high rev then drop to stall could be a vacuum leak.

Yes I cleared the code and it doesn't trip after I clear it, only the 02 sensor eventually comes back up. I went out the other day and disconnected the battery to try to reset the computer and in the mean time checked out all the connections to coil packs and for frayed wires on MAF, also looked for vacuum lines and didn't see any disconnected. Then I disconnected the MAF (it idled fine before I put a new one in), when I started it up it was normal.. Tripped the code again obviously, so I connected it, turned the car off and back on. The car stayed running this time but still did the fluctuating idle, from 800 or so to 1700. I was told it has a stage 2 set up, and I know it's for an injen CAI.. I did clean the throttle body as well.
