I just used the buttons that came with my stock steering wheel because the other wheel had all the buttons for cruze control and all and I dont have that on my car. Should I try putting the stock steering wheel back on and see what happens???

ya if i'm not mistaken your stock one is an 06 and the new one is an 07 and if i remember correctly use a differen't wiring system. i bet you anything that if you put your stock one back on, everything will work correctly.

I put an SS wheel on my 08LS and its a direct fit. the dic buttons and horn will work so long as you plug the little harness back in properly. The only reason youd need to do anything is if you want radio/cruise.

can you post pics of what you put in? and what switches you used?

There are two circuits missing in cars that dont have cruise, these need to be fabricated, technically a dealer can turn on the cruise control in a Cobalt, but they are told by GM not to and that it isnt possible to upgrade.

wheel

I put a leather wheel on my 08 LT. My stock wheel has the cruise and DIC but no radio controls. The leather one had all he same with the addition of radio buttons. I just plugged mine in and everything works. When I had mine apart I had disconnected the airbag plug and when I put that plug back in I neglected to to put the plastic piece that fits into the plug. I got an airbag light pop up. It drove me crazy trying to figure that one out. I took it to the dealer and the techinician found the problem after looking at the manuals. So, I would say check and make sure all your plugs are in and pieces related to the plugs are in. Also, you may check your fuses. Maybe you blew a fuse in the process.

Correct, if you leave out the CPA(connector position assurance) in an airbag connector it will usually set a code. They are there for a reason, and very easy to damage. A damaged one will do the same thing

LTs with cruise have the upgraded dash harness so I have no problem believing the radio controls were plug and play, they are on the LS too once you install the wires,

You might even have the fog light wiring in the dash, wouldnt be the first time

Were outside now trying to find the peoblem and we already made sure suff was plugged in we also already checked the fuses so now were putting the stock steering wheel on so we can see if the wiring harness in the new wheel wasnt bad...
