So I was on the highway and my steering wheel started to vibrate a little then the whole thing shook, it didnt affect my steering or anything. It was just shaking, I tried holding on harder still shook you could literally see it shaking. Anyone know what would do this? It was loud too

 

Does it happen when you brake or for no reason?

 

Sounds like you lost a weight on one of your front wheels....go have them balanced and see if that helps

 

Yes it happens when I brake as well, Im sure my rotors are warped but why would it do it when Im traveling fast? Um no my tires are fine it did it before when I had my old ones and I jsut got new ones on

Edit: it also happens for no reason when traveling over 60 mph

 

get em balanced and if that doesnt help rotate them maybe u got a couple tires that are chopped or jus shake the front end of ur car down check ball joints and tie rods

 

That could be a ton of things... loose lug nuts.. wheel weights... bad tire.. etc. Even though you think they are balanced properly, that is the place to start.

Yeah it could be a lot of things. I have that problem and Im pretty sure its my ball joints.

Did you ever find out what was going on with it?? I'm having the same problem... I would get them balanced but I'm gonna be putting on new tires really soon, so figured I would wait, but in the mean time just looking around to see other causes. thanks.

 

Mine would vibrate when I would brake and travel at certain speeds and warped rotors were the culprit. But yeah it could be a ton of things, I would recommend taking it to a dealer and getting it checked, and get the $39.95 "Goodwrench and Go" package

 

Im taking it to my mechanic, **** the stealerships haha. Its going in on Wednesday. Its shakes like crazy only at high speed over 60
