Stock Radio Problems

Lets me start off by saying that I'm new here as a user, but have been reading for quite a while. I just got an '06 Cobalt LT about a month and a half ago.

I have noticed on my stock radio (AM/FM/CD/XM/MP3) that the Bass and Treble settings that I set in XM do not stay set if I change the station. I do know to hold in the tuning knob after setting it, until I hear the beep. XM is the only mode it does this in. Bass and Treble are remembered in all other modes. I know this means a new radio.....I've been a GM parts guy in a dealership for almost seven and a half years now.

Anyone else experiencing this?????

I beleive that's how it works. The XM module (Digital Radio Receiver) is not capable of storing equalizer/tone settings.
