Tachometer needle moves after shutdown

I am not sure if this is normal or just my imagination but here is what happened. I drove to work this a.m., about 30 miles, mostly highway, and when I arrived at work I parked the car, turned it off, opened the door and noticed that the tachometer needle jumped a few times. This happened after I had the door open. (Now it could also happen when the door is closed, I'm just telling you that I noticed it while I had the door open.) It didn't move very far, maybe up a 1/4-1/2 inch but it did it a couple of times and then stopped. I have never noticed this before, but then again I never look at the tach anytime I am getting out of the car. What's up? OH, it is a 2008 SS/TC.

Thanks

It happens because the remaining electrical current drains so the motor can no longer suspend it in it's previous state.

Its just the design of the gauges. If you notice, we don't have bump stops on ours... so the needles end up twitching like a monkey on PCP to check its position.
