Thumping Sound When Turning Right
Thumping Sound When Turning Right
2007 SS S/C.
Bad CV joint? It's speed proportionate, so the faster you go the faster the "thump thump thump" gets. You can feel it in the steering wheel, too.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Car has 130k but the axles probably have 100 or less.
Thanks.

Sure it's not a tire?
Lsj axels aren't as strong as lnf so I guess it's possible. Any side to side vibration in the steering wheel or just the thump? Have you jacked it up and seen if there is excessive play in the joints?
I'll have to jack it up to inspect. When I swapped tires I didn't see anything off visually. I did reboot one of the axles a while back but that was on the passenger side, and my own fault for trying to rip the thing out of the intermediate shaft. lol
I know NAPA has good LSJ replacements, I might just throw one of those in and see if it helps. CABs are new as are the ball joints, struts, and swaybar links so I'm pretty sure it is either the axle or the wheel bearing, but wheel bearings usually make an airplane/propeller type noise when they go bad.
