Traction Control Light

Just a quick question regarding my 2.4L Cobalt SS (Automatic).

I was driving the other day and noticed my traction control light had come on out of the blue. I was running errands so I stopped and put it into park. When I shifted it into park it made a loud thud noise which is unusual. I turned it off and then started it again but the light stayed on. I started to head home but the light stayed on. As I sped up I felt the gas peddle shudder and thunk again....I drove it for about 10 minutes and then the thudding and light went away.

Any ideas? Hoping its not anything to do with my transmission. I just spent $1200 in the summer getting all my brakes done so I reallyyy don't want it to be anything major!

Sorry e-brake cable went as well and had to get new rotors, callipers, brakes etc. The whole nine yards lol. And I went to a mechanic which doesn't help.
