deff ur front brakes get new rotors or get them machined if possible. but if they are stock i would get new ones cuz the rotors gm puts on their vehicles suck.

depends on what warranty the dealership has for its used cars. and how long its been since u bought it. if u had to pay for it and did it ur self i would say it would cost u around 30-60 for each rotor. at least 60-80 bucks for a good set of pads. or if u brought it to the dealership i would guess around 300 prob less. but that all depends on their labor rate. at my dealership it usually cost about 300 for a front brake job.

I had the same problem with my car. Its the front rotars. They said it has to do if you brake hard a lot, you put a dent into the rotarsand the more you brake the more it dents. Its feels a lot worse from the inside than it actually is. For me I took it to the dealer and it was fixed under warranty. Only took them 2 hours and I had my baby back.

They shaved the disc and rotars and cleaned the brakes. She is good as new again!

Your rotors are warped. Get them replaced. It is not a warranty item.

Not sure if being in Canada would make a difference but it WAS covered under warranty for me. My car is only a year old though so don't know if that would make a difference. I personally would bring it to a dealership and find out.

Just a thought but good luck!

You brought it to the dealer and that's what they said? Have them take a look at your front discs to make sure that there is no dents in them. There may be minor dents and they can fix that by shaving the disc.

brakes are only covered by 2 year 40 K thats what mine is on an 07 they dont cover them in the bumper to bumper or drivetrain warranty because they are a wearable item and they have no control over how you drive, just like a clutch, they only came with 1 year 20 k.

I had it completely covered for me. I was passed the one year and defiantly passed the 20k.
They shaved my discs for me and did something to the brakes.

Well when I brought my car in I had to leave it there for 2 hours for them to work on my breaks. If you have that many problems that you are getting them to look at then its going to take longer so you are going to have to probably keep it there for most of the day.

I've had this happen on both of my Cobalts too. Having read about how the dealership would just smooth the rotors and the problem could reoccur I decided to say F THAT and just replaced the rotors for slotted/drilled ones. The problem is that the stock rotors do not cool sufficiently which causes them to heat up and warp. For replacements I recommend V12 Motorsports on Ebay. Love the look, love the price, and love the service. They were shipped and received before the money even cleared Paypal.
