I noticed as i was driving(mostly starting from stop) that when i take the clutch out, just after it catches there will be a pshhhh sound as if something is sucking in or blowing air, it only does it until the clutch is fully out, any ideas what that could be? Or is that normal?

Haha nice , but it was a serious question if someone can answer, i dont beat on the cobalt i just swapped the engine and trying to figure out some of the stuff, kinda new to the whole car thing :$

 

what you are describing is a clutch noise. i had that when i put my gmpp clutch in, it eventually went away. ive had it in various other vehicles ive put clutches into as well.

 

That's what I was guessing. Op did you put a new clutch or throw out bearing in it?

 

Long story short, i bought a new engine from a scrap yard and droped it in my car, so yes there is a new clutch, the clutch was not brand new but new ish to the engine , also the sound is as if there is air blowing out a hose, thats what it sounds like im not really sure how to explain it

 

yea thats the noise of the disc slipping against the flywheel and pressure plate. if the flywheel was machined and it was left rough it could make it louder.

basicly its nothing to worry about.
