Angry Water damage!Please Help!

So, woo-hoo, i hydro-planed into a ditch. To make a long story short, The car bogged down, and the inside of my car is ruined, from the electricaldown to the carpets, EVERYTHING. Thankfully my insurance covers flood damage. My question is, Does anyone know if this is worth totaling the car? I know it may be an $1800 plus job, but ive also heard a few people say that it may need to be totaled. Everything in the car is short-circuiting, But the engine is running fine, Im very stressed, and confused. Please help

$1,800? I think you forgot a zero But if it was completely submerged or close to it then yah I think they would write it off because water gets everywhere and you can't exactly get it out from all the tiny little places it can go and rust stuff away...

Your Insurance company will let u know if it is Totaled or not but if it is running fine then i doubt they will total it they will just have the shop remove all the interor and clean and dry it out and and as long as it was frest water everything else should dry out fine we have done quite a few like that where i work at.

Depends if there's body and frame damage. If it's just water damage they're not going to total it unless your engine is hydrolocked which it is not (even then they may not). Probably upwards of 4-5k to replace most of the electrical but it's going to take a long time.

You said you ran into a ditch not a stream. Was the car underwater or just got wet?

I'm going to have to make a thread about this and save it forever..lol.. I'll post a thread and link sometime soon.

Short version.. every single part of the car was taken apart and cleaned.. every electronic down to the circut boards.. etc..etc..

Thats what i meant,
Does anyone have a clue how much the write-off on an '06 LS, Auto, with 45k miles would be?
I'm most likely switching to a Mazda3 5door 5spd, thats if everything goes well.
