Weird Acceleration Issue

Hey guys, I've been looking around the forums for someone with an issue similar to mine but have had no real luck.

Fairly recently I've been noticing a lag in the acceleration in 3rd,4th, and 5th gear. If I press the gas pedal and it goes over about 3k or so rpms, the rpms shoot up and it doesn't accelerate. I can drive it fine without going over that for now, but I would like to have it fixed in case I ever actually needed it to go higher than that. Also, I'm not getting any check engine light. I'm thinking possibly a clutch issue?

It's an 07 SS Supercharged with about 95k miles. No Performance Mods, only an OTTP Short Shifter. Everything else is cosmetic.
Thanks for looking.

It kind of sounds like you're gonna need a clutch sooner than later. Since your stock you can just get the GMPP clutch kit and call it a day.

If you press the pedal and the RPMs go up without acceleration, your clutch is done.

As said, https://goo.gl/YjR6fV

If installed by a dealer you should get a 1 year warranty on parts and labor.

Probably a grand to do including labor. Get a couple quotes and try to find someone that has done one before.

If stock, the GMPP clutch kit will hold all the power for probably the rest of the life of your car.

Would I also need to replace anything else such as the flywheel or only the clutch?

you have to replace the flywheel whenever you do a clutch. Some cars you can get the flywheel resurfaced, but the cobalt is not one of those cars. If you resurface the flywheel on a cobalt you'll have more serious problems shortly down the road.

Also replace the TOB, clutch pipe, (I think I'm forgetting something here someone else fill in)

flywheel bolts is the other thing. torque to yeild bolts, they are only good for one use.

The link that umrdyldo posted comes with the TOB and the Clutch Pipe. I assume I should buy the GM flywheel from there as well?
