weird noise from vents

I am hoping someone else here has come across this, and can point me to the solution - thereby saving me from taking apart too much apart to find the problem...

I have started noticing a noise that only seems to start when my HVAC is set to bi-level (vent & floor) in either heat, cool, or A/C;
It sounds like there's a piece of rubber that is flapping that changes with the fan speed.

I did a couple searches before making this thread in the hopes of not having to make a new post.

Thanks in advance!

It may be something like a leaf or some other debris may be stuck in the vent hitting the fan. I don't know how to get at the fan itself, but I'm sure someone here can lead you in the right direction.

I figured out what it was...
I used a bore scope to look down my vents, and found that the sealing foam for the selector is mostly off...
So now I can:
1) tolerate it
2) use my "total recall tool" to reach down there and rip it out
3) r&r my dash properly to re-glue it down...

ugg.

Mine sounds like there is a piece of paper hitting the fan when it's on and I was told that is common on our cars? Drives me nuts.

Mine is only noticeable doing this on the lowest fan setting. Was like that when I purchased it and was going to have it looked at under warranty but then just got used to it.
I hardly ever use mine because I don't drive it in the rain. When it's hot I usually do the redneck air conditioning method of rolling down windows. And I rarely drive it in the winter.
