Weirdest Signal Light problem ever
Weirdest Signal Light problem ever
Hey guys, brand new, joined to ask this question because I can't find anything like it either on this site, or any others.
I noticed there are some common signal light arm/switch problems with the Cobalts (and I must apologize, i don't have an SS as the site indicates I should!) Perhaps this is related.
Basically it goes like this...Anytime I signal to turn right(so signal up) and make a turn, about 85% of the time as the wheel auto corrects and the signal kicks off it automatically kicks into signaling the opposite direction.
It's not a huge problem so much as annoying that I have to then shut it off manually every single time, and it might annoy some drivers when I turn and all of a sudden I'm signaling the other way for a couple seconds.
Anyone ever had this problem/heard of this problem?

Looks like a signal arm replacement is in order, probably just wore out.
Does it feel wore out moving when you signal one way more than the other.
Really dont think it has any thing to do with the steering wheel just a wore out switch.
Will have to look into how the canceling of the signal works.

A friend of mine had the same problem. It was her turn signal switch. Annoying as all hell when I had to borrow her car. I hate people who drive around with a turn signal flashing with no turning in sight.

From: New Jersey then. Now Orlando Florida
mine does the same thing in my 07 ss/sc when I make a left turn and put my signal on as soon as the steering wheel turns straight it kicks over to the right turn signal
That car wants to turn off those signals so badly that it's kicking the arm all the way the opposite direction! Lol
Seriously though, I have no idea why it's doing that. I would imagine that replacing the switch/arm thing would fix that.
