What could this be?

Occasionally when I'm going on the expressway, my '06 balt starts to violently shake. If I apply the breaks, the shaking is even worse. Usually it'll do this the entire drive home, even when I'm going slower, 30/35mph... But later that day if I go out again, or whatever, it won't do this. What do you think this could be?

Thanks in advance!

See, that's what I thought too, but the dealer had just replaced them.

Rotors are most likely warped form getting to hot. Thos is from expressway driving because you are going 60-70mph or whatever and then you hit the brakes to get off the expressway the heat up really fast because of all that fristion.

Not all that much. I would say I've only put on 2,000 miles or so total from when they were last replaced. I don't violently brake all the time or anything...

The other possabilty is that your tires could be out of balance

Yeah, but I'm confused to why it would only does it occasionally when I'm driving on the highway, instead of constantly?

Unbalanced wheels will not vibrate all the time, only at certian speeds, likelets say 65, you can go 62 and it wont, the minute you hit 65 it shakes like hell, then when you hit like 70 it goes away

Yes, but see, like I said, even after I get off the expressway, it'll still shake really bad when I'm going like 30 - 35 mph.

Are there any lights on in the dash? Your ABS system could be screwed causing it to clamp/unclamp your brakes and it does it so fast it feels like a bad vibration. Either way I would take it to the dealer because you may have a serious safety issue with your car.

I don't have ABS, and no lights show up on the dash...
