cv shafts go bad when you turn the wheel and you hear knocking, wheel bearing is constant loud road noise.

i guess no one wants to answer a real question?

Patience, lil camper! Its only been a couple hours.

Are you up to replacing it yourself? Its not difficult. Autozone lists the bearing/hub for your car at $229.

There are cheaper versions but they appear to be for the 2.2 cars.

With the right tools, I found it fairly easy. Its not like some cars where you have to remove the whole steering knuckle and get the bearing pressed out.

I may have misread it, but your first post wasn't clear if you were looking for a shop to do it, or just a price. Sorry if I went down the wrong path.

i know in the 4 lug, the wheel bearing is sealed inside the hub assembly, so you have to replace, the entire assembly which is pretty easy, took me less than an hour. I'm thinking the ss/sc might be the same way?

Yes, there's a harness connector you have to unplug for the ABS.

The non-ABS version is cheaper. And the 2.2 version is cheaper too; probably because its 4-lug. Also be sure to replace the axle nut and washer with new ones (they provide new ones in the box with the new bearing).

Your going to have to give a better description of your car, it could be suspension issues

I have a bad wheel bearing too. I'm taking it to the dealership for warranty work in about an hour. Best of luck to you with installing it.
