I believe you use an when it is a vowel SOUND. so when pronoucing the letter "S" it sounds like "Ess" therefore you use an. That's what I thought at least. I just thought I'd join in the grammar discussion, haha.

oh, and on topic, I agree that it doesn't sound like wheel hop but more of the jerking motion others have described.

i like to have a cup of joe and read a good book during wheel hop.. just kidding.. no i'm not. i have only had one case of wheel hop and i just let of the gas a bit and then it was all good..
