Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

White smoke from alt?

Exclamation White smoke from alt?

So i just finished my new engine swap on my 2.4 and went to turn it over for the first time witch ment pluging the battery in. as soon as i did i heard a weird noise coming from the bay so i unplugged the battery and white smoke was coming from under the alternator.. what could of caused this? i'm assuming wiring any ideas of what it could of done would be awesome just put 4g into a car that went up in smoke whooops

Sounds like you had a wiring short if it started doing that as soon as you connected the battery.

Check the hot wires going to the alternator and starter, they are live all the time, make sure they are installed properly and not pinched on anything.
