Won't start without jump

My 06 ls died while I was driving on the highway today. I jumped it and it started right up. I left the jumpers on the car for a few mins but as soon as I took them off it died. The tac, mph, and fuel gauges are working late or not working at all everyone and a while when it starts. Any suggestions?

Alternator died and there isn't any power to recharge the battery so the electrical systems are shutting down with now power coming in and it only being drained.

Ok that was my guess but I had this happen on my old Taurus wagon. But the Taurus's alternator was fine it had a fuse in between the battery and the alternator I think it was 175amp. Do. Know if the cobalts have a fuse like that that could've died so it looks like the alternator is dead?

You'd have to check under the hood, there's a fuse box on the drivers side, see if any are blown.

Definitely sounds like alternator. But of course always check fuses first. Could be a cheap fix ;P
