There's pic's?

yeah there's pics, looks like a dancer, no offense, may just be the look you were going for when you took them (sultry or whatever) but I've sworn off the shaker bar... My brother married a dancer though, nice girl, just takes her clothes off to make a living, but whatever. Her friends are PSYCHO!!!

Permanant fix: New tires.
Don't be so sure... thats what I thought and tried

You are right, it is most likely not the trans. But we can work up to that. First, you said the steering wheel shakes when you brake. That is simple. Thats warped brake rotors. You need a front brake job.

Then the wheels. Do you need new tires yet? If so, replace them now. If not, have them rebalanced as suggested. If they are properly balanced, it shouldn't matter where you mount them.

Now the tech comment about the torn CV boot concerns me. That is something you can have confirmed very easy. Just have another tech look at that for you. If he can confirm you have a torn boot, have that fixed. It might already be too late, and you might need a new CV axle. Look into that quickly.

And I'm in Nashville, so Louisville is pretty close. Stay in touch for summer car meets.
Don't forget the brake lines. I did everything, new pads, new rotors, new drums, new shoes, new wheels, balance, alligned, road force balanced... finally turned out to be the brake lines.

I'm starting with the obvious and simple stuff.

the simplest thing to do, is undo what was done. She said it was an issue after rotation, so un-rotate, then troubleshoot from there.....

All the advice was really helpful....thanks everyone! I called someone I know who works at a Chevy dealership who agreed to run a diagnostic test for me free to make sure. As far as the rotors go...I'm thinking that may def. be the shaking problem. It could be an unbalanced tire as well. And yes...it is about time for new tires so that could also be a cause. Having the tech look at it tomorrow will probably help a lot. As well as running the test..I can hopefully get a clear answer. At least I was able to get some advice and answers that made more sense on here.

And for the record...lol...I am not a dancer.

Hopefully it's something not as serious. Because there is a bit of uneven wear as well on one of my tires...so maybe it's something else. I'm hoping.
And yes...it really is me in my pictures. I got a link to my myspace on my profile I do believe. Fun times.
You do but it's marked as private. We demand you remove that.
And then get naked.

Well just to sum this all up. Went to the dealer today and had someone I know look at it and run a test for me free of charge. Turns out it was the rotors. Also the front axle and seal needs replacing. Not to mention that the front right rim is bent so that needs to be fixed. Nothing at all to do with the transmission. So now it's just a matter of fixing all this. Just about all the advice I got here was right, and def. helped me know what to ask them to check out first. Thanks everyone!

I'm pretty sure the axle seal they're talking about is in the transmission.

If it happens when ur braking and u feel it in the front end sounds like ur front rotors are warped
