Zzp Ftl!!!

i have always supported zzp with their header/dp combo. awesome gains and everything... but are they made good?? i had mine ceramic coated which is guaranteed for life against everything. but when i jacked my car up the other day... this is what saw

check yours too.
i emailed zzp and they wrote back saying that we dont do the coating. you will have to talk to zoofactory. http://www.ceramic-coated.com/defaul...active_page_id
They pretty much said its now your problem that we sold you a shitty product.

i just thought i would share this with .net
thanks

ZZPerformance used to be my vendor of choice when i had my cobalt, But at the same time i feel i made a mistake.

My downpipe blew right after the collector and i had to pay shipping for them to fix it.

Then i sold my header to a friend and about 2 months later the header cracks.

Both ZZP Parts bought brand new, both didn't last over 1 year/10,000 Miles.

If you wanna go cheap get a pacesetter. If you wanna spend some money i say go with Vibrant. Or something along those lines.

is the extra for the ceramic coating even worth it though??? isnt that just an extra insulator that keeps the heat in the header??

It pisses me off when companies tell you that they had this done somewhere else, so you have to take it up with them... Its like, I have a service with YOU not them, if I have any problems I should have to take it up with YOU to get it fixed.

I would tell them that you paid them money to provide a service/product to you and they paid zoofactory for a service/product to them. ZZP should have to take it up with zoofactory.

Bullshit

damn cole that sucks. i've only got the high temp paint and mine doesnt look like that... the paint on mine hasn't even burned off and its been what? probably 10,000 miles? maybe you should just look into getting it recoated yourself. or throw some 1200* high temp paint on there.

I've never had a problem with my zzp midlength/header combo. I'll post pictures one of these days. Definately doesn't look like yours tho.

i dont think you need to waste money on a new header...just pop that bitch off and and use some 1200* high temp paint. take the money you would spend on a new header and buy a cf trunk!..

I had some problems with zzp stuff too. My header came with a large dent in the side. Zzp was great about it. I paid to shipnit back and was returned soon after. Then when installed, the down pipe didn't match up. So I had to make another gasket and buy new bolts and washers because the stock ones broke. The after it was broken in the car dynoed less up and tq than before. Smg fred drove himself crazy trying to figure out why. After a week of him trying to figure it out I said cut off the cat and that was it. The cat was no good. So the moral of my story is zap helped with one part but didn't with the other two

That's weird....
As mentioned by others, my coated pacesetter looks brand new still.

It is obviously a finishing issue.... as in the surface wasn't properly prepped before the ceramic was put on... or it wasn't baked properly before being shipped out.

As much as I love ZZP, you should get a hold of them again, and mention that their outsourced company must have quality control issues. It would be beneficial for them to not only take care of your situation.... but find out if other people may have been affected by a bad batch of coatings.
It is indeed something they should take up with Zoofactory to avoid future quality issues.

1200* paint don't do ****! I had my header painted with that... it burned off instantly! Your highway EGT's are 1200-1300* people!

Looks like someone did not prep the header correctly before ceramic coating. This could just be a 1 time thing. If other members post pics of their H/DP and they look fine then your just out of luck that you got the bad one out of the batch. ZZP should understand that errors at work happen and the customer should just get a replacement part.
