Possibly a Turbo kit in the future???

Was wondering if yall at REBEL are going to be working on a turbo setup for the 2.0l LSJ?

chevysalesman614 08-06-2007 09:24 PM

We have a Kit figured out and running around making some power. The daily tune is over 350whp at this point.
There will be more on turbo kits in the coming weeks.

Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-06-2007 09:56 PM

Can we sign you up for one if it makes more than 315whp ?

You can sign me up for a free test vehicle if you like? Haha Man I wish I could buy one of these kits right now but I have some funding issues b/c im trying to save some money to get my apartment so we will see, but when is it going to the dyno?

1 Attachment(s)
and this little guy is going to be sent out 2moro for porting so we can see the full potential of the turbo kit.

skymynx 08-07-2007 12:18 AM

what do your kits include for base model?

RollermanDan 08-07-2007 01:05 AM

I take it no love for the 2.2L? ;)

So are you saying the base kits is going to not come with an intercooler????? Whats going to be the main differences? And are thos prices canadian?

Sales@rebelautoworxs 08-07-2007 08:54 AM

The Base kit uses the factory intercooler. It's actually pretty effiecient when it comes to pulling the heat out.

SSam2.4 08-07-2007 12:00 PM

This future turbo for the 2.4 as well? 300+ to the ground is what I am looking for, TC or SC . Although a turbo might be easier on a clutch? What is the efficiency range of the turbo you are using, and where is the air intake located (stock loc.)?

is it also using the empty s/c as the manifold? i know the actual intake manifold, and the intercooler are connected, so i guess you'd have to remove the rotors from the s/c and leave it on there?

if we make a turbo kit for the 2.4, you will need a new clutch for sure, we would aim for around 350WHP.

intake on the 2.0 turbo is to the left of the engine

no not gutting the SC.

There's two options here

1. manifold that bolts on top of the lower intake manifold (cheaper option)

2. new lower intake manifold which will flow a lot more with intercooling built in

Hey Rebel have a question for you as far as the stock internals on the SS/SC lsj engines they will hold for hte 350 whp turbo swap right or am i wrong

Na I doubt they would do that, im pretty sure it uses a setup close to that of TAG's, but I could be mistaken.....

Werd, there is a TAG turbo balt pushing 406hp I believe, dont know how long it would last but 350hp sounds good for a safe tune, w/ the right IAT2's you should be good

So you are say that the LSJ stock internals will be good for the 350 whp how big is the turbo i am just trying to figure out what i wanna do i am not sure just yet but when i get my 14gs from taxes i am going all out

yea, the guy we know is around the 350whp mark and he's driving it everyday

not sure about the 406hp, I would say that's crank

IAT2's are amazing on a turbo, 111*F at full WOT

KillerBee 08-07-2007 01:35 PM

So if i wanna stay with stock internals, i think that 350 whp with a turbo and stock internals is still cheaper then buying a twinscrew and replacing the internals that just what i think anyone have any other ideas or opinions on that

SVghost 08-07-2007 01:35 PM

....

KillerBee 08-07-2007 01:46 PM

anyone else i am not trying to make it look like the twinscrew is bad but if i wanna save some money would it be safer to go with the turbo kit honestly i love the supercharger cause i like my power now instead of waiting for the turbo to spool up

Luv2Race 08-07-2007 10:55 PM

Sounds like you have a good setup going on here...... I look forward to hearing more info on this kit.
