I don't think it's the actual power steering motor, I think it's something bigger. I had the recall done and this is what I get. It feels like it's a larger, electrical issue. Here are two videos of what my gauges do if anyone is seeing something different. I tested the odometer with mile markers and that is working but everything else is useless and no I do not have power steering during this time. It's murder on the side streets and it's noticeable on the highway too.

Update

Just got my car back. It was the power steering motor that went out. They replaced the motor for free. So far so good. I will update again later and let you all know if it is fixed for good.

Check your vehicle speed sensor (VSS). If it's causing problems, you should have DTC C0000. Also check your splice pack for GM LAN. Make sure all connections are tight and aren't corroded. It's located behind the cubby where the trunk release is. It's a small flat plastic block with several green wires feeding into it.

Exclamation power steering issue

Alright so here is my problem that I have been fighting with GM for. My cobalt already had the power steering assist transmission motor I believe its called fixed. Well this was before I owned the car. Well we ran the car on the scanner and its coming back with the code for that failing again. GM is claiming they will not fix it again unless if we can prove it. Any ideas on what I can do to get it to go forward? Also the dealership lied to my face when they had the car for 3 days trying to get it to do what it had done for me but they told me there was no codes coming up. Meanwhile my boyfriend who is an entry level tech it took him like 10 mins but he went into the computer and found a code right away. In theory sorry if this is jumpy I'm just looking for info on how to fight GM to get this issue fixed again because I'm kinda concerned for my safety here and driving the car.

It was done by my bf at a different dealership. But we took the code we got and printed out the info given online about that code and gave it to them.

They lied straight to our face when we asked if there was a code. We are going to a different dealer and see what happens. GM says we have to p[rove the part is bad in order for them to pay for it. But if the code is coming up then wouldn't it be bad?
