whiny cobalt

My 2008Cobalt started making a noise under the hood on the drivers side that increases as I accelerate.I was told maybe low on power steering fluid.Anyone else experience this?

Cobalts have electric power steering.

Does the sound match rpm or speed increase?

Mystery solved...it's the wheel bearing caused from hitting a famous Pa pothole and rain getting in there. So glad its not the transmission.

That's good. I don't know much about the 4t45 in the Cobalt, but I've seen a few cars over the years that had a bad pump in the trans make all sorts of noises, usually right before they failed.
