Hello fellow members! I'm curious on which car care products you use for detailing your car(s). I'm no pro at it and simply wash and dry my car and try not to get many swirls to the paint as possible. I use the 2 bucket wash system and recently placed an order of Poorboy's World products after doing hours of research. Below is one of the three boxes I received. Post up pics of your products or simply write what you use.

I use all sorts of products, generally tutle wax and mothers stuff. the importance, over which products you use, is how you use them.

here's a referance to a youtube guy who definately knows his stuff when it comes to anything car detailing related. i consider myself somewhat of a geek when it comes to detailing my car (friends call me crazy) and i gotta say this dude has that common sense.

all that being said, i wish i could use 'adams' products but just can't justify spending that much dough.

 

I think Adam's is reasonably priced actually. Especially when you buy products by the gallon.

 

For a regular wash I just go to the quarter wash places. (yeah I know not the best but it's better than leaving the car dirty)

For Detailing.

Megruires Ultimate compound on any "bad spots"

wheels I use Meguires endurance spray. It works great little to no sling if you let it set for 15-30 min.

I have also used pinnical and wolfgang products. They are slightly better but honestly it's not enough for the cost.

 

Turbo wax, their stuff is awsome, wax especially

 

I use mainly Griots Garage products

 

i have used wizards products lately, but normally i use Meguires

 

wrong, sorry. better to leave dirt sitting on your paint than to scratch it all over your paint

my buddy has an old jeep that he just washed for the first time like.. ever. his paint is pretty ******* flawless considering he's offroaded so much and just let the rain wash it. my old car, which i used to wash all the time in those quarter washes, was covered in marks

 

Uhm.. I'll take a picture and list when I get home, let's just say A LOT of different types/products. Some I have just experimented with, I mainly try to use Meguiars professional series.

 

I use the bathroom cleaner scrubbing bubbles on the weather stripping and small painted section when you open the door next to the seats. Works really well for getting dirt off and I haven't noticed any ill effects after doing this for a few years now.

 

anyone know of a way to get wax and **** off of the window trim stuff? once wax gets on it it like never comes off... i kind of use tire shine/armorall to cover it up but obviously never lasts.

 

Adams is definitely my favorite, AND they are now the official GM car care products for Corvette and Camaro! Adams is not some impersonal multi-billion dollar outfit like most of the big brands. They are all about service and personal attention to each order. And their stuff is unparalleled in the industry!

Adams is good stuff and all their products, even bottles, nozzles and labels are made in the USA. They also mail everything here in the states.

 

I like Turtle wax ice products for the slam, bam, thank you ma'am. Does the trick and are cheap when on sale. However, Mcguiars is my product of choice when getting serious - like the 5 hour detail = blood, sweat and tears.

 

Meguires products are good for when you need something NOW, and they're readily available at most retail locations. But I really like Adams products for personal use, always by hand since idk how to use a buffer. I've seen Zaino products used professionally and they're fantastic. Never tried Turbowax's stuff. We use Ardex products at work. Not a big fan of them. Though their interior shine is fantastic. But that's about it.

 

It's definatly not better to leave the dirt sitting on the car. It will destroy the clear coat faster. If you rinse the brush and you wait to clean the tires last so brake dust doesn't get on the paint it's alot better. You may have not waxed, polished, swirl removed, compound, clayed your car at all. The wash isn't there to remove swirls or minor scratches just to remove large surface dirt. Even with a new sponge and a 2 bucket wash you can still get minor scratches and swirls from the dirt already there.

the stuff i use from meguiars is not available at retail locations, with the exception of tire shine. i used adams detailer at a show this year and it's decent, but i feel like i'll stick with the meguiars stuff i use...

 

Dress your trim with this stuff prior to polishing/waxing and the compounds won't penetrate. You can just wipe it off.

 

Anyone know what retail store has the grit guard bucket inserts on a shelf? Don't wanna order online but might have to

 

i had to get em online. nowhere else. ebay, you get two for like 20 buxx
