Car Detailing Products help

Well. Forgot my detailing bag in my car on a few cold days (which is very bad for them) and they are all ruined.

I am looking to see if there are any better options to what I am doing. All of the detailing guru's please chime in with suggestions.

I was using all mothers products with the exception of McGuire's Gold class car wash.

Here is the run down of what I had. I would like to hear suggestions that would equal or better what I have.

- Mothers California Gold Pre-Wax Cleaner
- Mothers California Gold Sealer and Glaze
- Mothers California Gold Pure Carnauba Wax
- Mothers California Gold Showtime Instant Detailer
- McGuire's Endurance Tire Gel
- McGuire's Gold Class Leather Cleaner/Conditioner (doesn't shine too much which is nice)
- Mothers Power Metal Aluminum Polish and Power Ball
- Mothers California Gold Scratch remover

Any suggestions or personal experience is appreciated. Really want to keep this thing clean and it's bothering me already that I have nothing to do my first spring detail with.

Never thought of 3M. I will have to see what they have.

Any other suggestions?

I tried the new spray on Eagle One wheel cleaner and protector, can't say that I liked the protector. Wheel cleaner was pretty good though.

Took a read through it. Tons of good info. Thanks Hatrickstu. I am assuming that the first two stages of the mothers products I was using mimic's the polishing to a small degree?

Not too sure if I am comfortable with polishing yet. Kind of scared of wrecking something.

I don't really have anything that I use as a wheel cleaner. I just use a wheel brush and the McGuire's car wash.

Do you spray the cleaner when you are washing the car and spray it off with the rest of the car when washing? Never used a wheel cleaner so that may have been and increadibly noob type question.

The aluminum wheel cleaner is in a spray bottle and you spray the wheel, wait 30 seconds and hose it down.

It doesn't make it perfect, but it helps a lot because my wheels are gross from the performance pad brake dust.

I will be doing a writeup on the wheel protectant in the next 2 weeks. A before and after type thing.

(I am a meguiar's fan.. haha)

Meguiar's NXT Generation Car wax (in the purple bottle)
- This stuff is my hands down, absolute fave wax ever. Everyone I have forced it on so far has loved it as well

What everybody needs at all times in their detail bag:
Meguiar's Quick Detail - life saver!

Meguiars Gold Class car wash is what I use as well.

I'll have to look into their kits and see how much they are. I have all the microfiber stuff but it might be cheaper in the kit as opposed to seperate products. A system would be ideal since everything is made to work together.
