I love shopping carts

So i'm assuming this is a nice ol scratch from a shopping cart I recieved one day.
So what would be the best product to use to get it out? I was thinking Scratch X but im not sure, I also have a buffer if need be. So any opinions on the correct product to use to get the scratch out would be great.
Thanks

plastic car FTMFW!! lolol... is it gauged out?... if not try a heavy rubbing compound (or the weight you think is appropriate) on the buffer.. if that doesnt work.... gonna have to get it repainted for the compound i find the 3m products to be pretty good.. but my firend has a bunch from the dealer he use to work for that works even better lol

Depends how deep those scratches are? Can you feel them with your fingernail?
Turbo Wax swirl remover will cover a multitude of sins, unless they are deep, the same as any other product, but will still help to a degree.

No, that scratch is from a car door. Someone in a white Monte Carlo hit their car door against my car at school one day and left a mark identical to that. Seriously, all it took to get it out was some Meguiar's ScratchX and elbow grease and you can't even tell it happened.

I must not be using Meguir's scratchX right then. I have a few slight scratches on my hood and it didn't do anything. <_< I can still see the scratches up-close. What am I doing wrong?

Yeah the instructions on the tube are vague at best. I get an old cloth (usually a disposable Scott Shop Towel) and put some of the ScratchX on it and apply it to the scratch and rub opposite the direction of the scratch with some force. After most of the ScratchX disappears I apply some more and just keep doing this until the scratch is gone, usually 3-4 times.

With surface scratches where there was mostly paint transfer it works great, but there are some dings in the paint on my hood from gravel that I've not had any success getting out with it. It also seems to work a lot better on metal than plastic.

Looks like paint on paint.

Try using some 3M scratchout and see if it removes it after a few applications. Otherwise I suggest getting some info from Hatrick on how to cut it out since it would be deep. I cant tell if its down to the base coat with those scratches.

Doh!

Wash the area w/ dish soap. Use rubbing compound (read the directions or else you will **** up your paint.). Polish, wax, and voila. No more mark on your car.

Yea but that may be a bit excessive. Easier to work with finer grain than going all-out compounding.

Hence why i say use the scratch out since it is around 1500ish grit.

Rubbing compound i think is a bit rougher.

Scratch-X will work, but you have to remove the old wax first. The scratch is in your paint, not the wax layer on top of it.

I swear to god im going to get a video, post it on youtube and show you why it doesnt work.

How can scratchX NOT remove wax and yet be strong enough to cut in to the paint?

think about it......

Man i've been detailing cars for years, I know what works and what doesn't.

It has abrasives which work with the clear coat of your car, not with the wax layers. You can't buff wax. Research it a bit more man, you'll see exactly what i'm talking about. Also depends on the depth of the scratch. If it cuts THROUGH the paint layer then obviously scratch-x isn't going to work. It's mostly for swirls and paint transfer, like the OP has on his car.
