Turbo Wax makes a great swirl remover. If you have a buffer you will want to get a soft foam cutting pad. Usually they will list them as far as abrasiveness or as a color. You are looking for just the light compound / light cutting pad. Should be

Automotive Detailing Supplier | Best Car Wax | Turbo Wax

You won't have that great of success by hand as it's more difficult to heat up the paint.

Wax will help hide the swirls but will not remove them, if you want to do it right it takes time and a allot of work. Check out www.autogeek.net - YouTube

I use Porter Cable buffer (the best one for people new to buffing) CSS foam pads and Meguiars Ultimate Compound

And this is how it turns out

Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Best $10 you can spend. Follow it up with a Meguiars Wax of your choice. I use Meguiars Gold Class, but I heard Meguiars NXT is good too.

I use Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, Meguiar's Ultimate Polish, Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax, with CSS foam pads and a Porter Cable 7424 XP. Works GREAT!

autokeeg kit is by far the best way. A little pricey but you will have a better finish on your car than even new cars or any other car on the road for that matter. i have the 4 pad kit and compounds, awesome products.

Mine is black too. Get a orbital buffer on sale at CT. Do the car twice with the Ultimate Compound. Wax, then stand back and enjoy.

Check out Adam's Polishes. They are a small company with some of the best products and indisputably the best customer service in the industry. Everything they sell is proudly made in the USA, in contrast to the big guys such as Meguiar and Turtle Wax. And Adams was just nominated the official GM car care product for Camaro and Corvette!

Check out one of their many videos, this one is on polishing with the Porter Cable.

Takes some skill and experience with a P.C. For a rookie = me, a ROP is best. For products, lots of choices. Just saying - can't beat Mcguires to get your feet wet for $10. See the results. Then go from there.

The porter cable IS a random orbital polisher. It takes no skill at all. You CANNOT damage your paint with a PC. The Flex is a little more advanced, and takes a little more care.

in reality you really may not need to compound, Unless your paint is that bad and you have scratches. Just polishing with a pad should do it. Be sure you dont rush while buffing and spin the pad a little slower then you would when compounding. Also watch out what wax you use some are actually used to remove polish

The ultimate compound is pretty good stuff as a first step, if the paint is bad enough to merit it. In other words if the polish wont take it out try the ultimate compound on it. Its not like a gritty compound or anything so its nothing as aggressive as what i would think of a traditional compound to be. The ultimate compound will clean the paint up really nice and help to remove light scratches and make other deeper ones alot less apparent. After the compound the paint will look really good in the shade, but the spiderwebbing u see from the sun will still be there, and on darker cars it will leave it with fine swirls. Thats where the polish comes in and will clean most, if not all of that up and make the paint really pop. You will spend a good bit of time on it with the polish but the results are well worth it. All my experience is based off of hand polishing/waxing.

On a side not wolfgang makes really good car care products; their paintwork polish and sealant 3.0 is what i use on my daily driver cobalt. However, you wont find them in your local store and they are sorta on the more expensive side.

the best way IMO that has worked to remove swirl marks is to buy M105 & M205 with lake county orange and white pads and use with multi speed buffer. I use 4' pads.

first hit the car with 105 with orange pads to remove any kind of light scrapes. do a panel at a time, wipe off immediately. do on speed 5 i believe.

next follow with m205 with white pads and do each panel at a time. wipe immediately. should remove 80% of marks. I have done my many cars this way and the result is amazing. i follow up with chemical guys 50/50 wax. some of the best wax out there.

I get all my stuff from detailed image.com and they are very helpful. they do 458 italias and high end cars and i never buy stuff in stores anymore when you get get the higher end stuff on there. Now everyone may do different stuff but this is the route i take. here is a picture for reference on what my process makes cars look like. this is my old 300c.

Yet another vote for using a claybar, then PC, CSS or Megs foam pads and Meguiars Ultimate Compound. I follow up with Klasse AIO and then Zaino, Megs, or another high quality sealant.

Also, some of the carnuba waxes will give a bit better shine and pop at the expense of durability.

My suggestion is as follows;

1. Our Turbo Wax Swirl Remover
1A. Turbo Wax Medium Compound if needed
2. Porter Cable 7424XP
3. Turbo Wax Hex Foam Pads orange/yellow
4. Finished up with Turbo Wax Car Wax with Polycharger

This is what you can expect: ( with a little experience LOL)
