wax vs spray on wax

I haven't gotten a chance to wax my car yet but I bought turtle wax. I bought it over the spray cause I figured the spray is temp that won't last long. is this true? which is better the spray or the actual wax? also what's a clay bar for, and should I get one of those too? I'm gonna have a car wash/mechanic place do the waxing for me. and they said they compound first too. I don't have the time to wax a car and i have no choice but to do in the sun so...

wax is better, it lasts longer and protects better, spray wax is really just a booster to help keep the car nice between waxing

If you jack off onto your car and rub that into the paint it will probably work better than spray on wax. Turtle wax isn't that good from what I have experienced, I'd stick with Meguiars, Mothers, or Zymol.

And why pay someone to wax your car? It's the easiest thing in the world to do, and gives you some alone time with your car.

I'll second that. It's an overpriced gimmick, IMO.

I used the spray stuff the other day when I was in a rush, but I usually stick with the better stuff.

don't pay someone to wax your car, there's nothing to mess up. put it on, wait a few minutes, and wipe it off. what do you think you're going to do wrong? not having time is an excuse for lazy. it will take just as much time for someone else to do it as you would yourself.

ditch the turtle wax, get any of the others mentioned. i even tried the turtle wax ice, and the liquid claybar, all garbage. get a real claybar, and some good wax, and do it yourself. if you don't have shade, do it at sunset when the sun isn't shining.

alot of work, but worth it. my black car looks dirty as hell 20 minutes after i'm done cleaning it, but it feels like a baby's ass. if you sit on my hood or lean against my fender, you'll fall off the car.
