Who wants wheels for Auto-X - SS/SC Stock Cat. ?
Who wants wheels for Auto-X - SS/SC Stock Cat. ?
I am just trying to get a sense of how many people are interested in a set of wheels for the stock category in Auto-X? These would be custom made by Rota in the 5X110 bolt pattern in the stock wheel size, 18X7, 42 mm offset. Weight would be around 17 lbs. And as far as what wheel we go with it could be determined later. Price would be around $650-700. I was originally going to go in with 2K5SS/SC but they don't want them in the stock size. We need 5 people interested to make this work.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

SCCA rules state that to stay in the stock category, wheels have to be the same dimensions as the STOCK wheels, hence the name stock category. The only thing that can be changed is offset, which is commonly done with spacers.

I'd be interested in this, but not at the present time. I'm not doing any purchasing for Auto-x stuff until the winter.
Trying to put a came plan into focus on just what class I want to run in next year.
I really want the Rota "Torque" wheels, and may go with them if either a) I run in stock, and use my stocks for A-X and run something stickier on them, or b) run in SM or STX next year and use the Rotas as the AutoX wheels.
Still focusing on finishing this season, so let me know how they handle the wheels.

I was thinking about moving up a category, but way too much prep work and $$$ is involved to stay remotely competitive. Stock class it is for me....
Ohh, and as for time frame, wheels should take about 10 weeks to make. It is $100 up front and then the rest up finishing. I don't care when we order just as long as they are here for next season. Maybe we could get a GB going on some Hoosiers too....
SS people are resorting to ROTAS?! cmon guys... your not driving a honda....
i had 15" Rota Circuit 8s in Sport Bronze on my civic and they bent after about 2 weeks and 1 quick run through some cones.

a Cobalt SS is in DS class, D Stock, any major modification other then tires and you are automatically in SM which is Street Mod just for future reference
also by ss I means the supercharged and non supercharged are in the same class. At least that is the structure of our classes up here

Wheels are nearly impossible to find for this car, and you have to work with who is willing to work with you.
