Dyno'd my 2013 GS over the weekend...

Hey guys, finally put my 2013 GS on the rollers. She did very well with the GM Stage Kit, and my other simple mods (WERKS DP, Catless Mid-pipe, Forge Re-circ valve).

Final numbers were 260whp 316wtq.

Dyno'd in 3rd or 4th, which ever is closest to 1:1 (I forget).

A6, manual mode, Exxon 93 octane, GS mode, traction off, stability control off.

I used this same dyno for my Cobalt SS Supercharged back in the day, and it was found to be very accurate and consistent. Made the exact same power 2 years in a row.

Who talks crank horsepower anymore? What matters is what you can get to the ground.

i agree!! but when guys see dyno numbers from an automatic they usually dont know that theres a significant loss when getting the correct reading because of the automatic transmission. hell some even say 30-35%. ive always been told 15-25% for an automatic car being dynoed.

Manufactures only use that number because it is always bigger, just like TV's measure diagonally.

Automatics should be getting more efficient as time goes on I would think. But those are probably just ballpark numbers anyway.

I will say crank horsepower a good way to explain deviation between two vehicles with the same engine setup with different drivetrains but that is about it.

They sure do. I was surprised with how well it moved out when I first test drove it. Doesn't feel like a 3700lb car at all.

Yeah, the Aisin AF40 in the car is pretty efficient. I believe driveline loss was calculated closer to 15-18% with it.

For 2012-2013 Regal GS's:

270bhp 295tq stock

295bhp 335tq GM Stage Kit

Figure 15% driveline loss for the auto, and my car is making around 305bhp 370tq.

What kind of dyno numbers do people get stock? 210-215 whp?

At 20% loss this car is sitting at 325 at the crank, sounds about right.

From the few I looked at, they look pretty similar.
