Shifter Knob Removal & Factory Quality Replace w/Any Knob

1st)Pop Cap On Shifter Knob & Remove Screw
2nd) PULL LIKE HELL
3rd) Pull straight back on dash end of boot, so it unlaches
4th)Slide Whole Boot & Reverse Lock out off Shifter Shaft
5th)Not needed but recomended, The Shaft on the Shifter is dull & dirty. To get it to shine Use Steel wool (FINE COURSE) or compatible with some metal polish. Will make it look really good if u take your time. (Some of the Shaft will show When you are done)

6th)Invert Boot Cut Zip Tie that Holds Boot on Reverse lock out. (Dont worry Leather wont Fall Apart,But make Sure to cut Zip Tie ONLY.)

7th) Cut Reverse Lock out just under Finger Grip & Flush with the top of the Boot. You Can use a Hacksaw or Power saw. (just make sure to REMOVE BOOT before you cut.

8th) Now Take The Leather off the Old Shifter Knob By Cutting The Stich then removing the leather.

9th) Cut a piece of Leather about half the lenght of wat you removed from Knob.

10th) Wrap Cut Leather over end of Reverse Lock out Where you cut it & Zip Tie in Place as Seen in pictures Red Zip tie.

11th) Now Place Boot over Top of Reverse Lock out (Note boot will Be inverted as seen in Pictures) Now Zip tie in place Black zip tie in Photos. Black Zip Tie Replaces one You cut in Beginning.

12) Reinvert your Boot & & Ready for Install, Cut the hole in the top of the Leather smaller than the Shaft so that it fits tight around the Shifter shaft (NOW YOU R READY FOR ANY SHIFTER KNOB YOU WANT & YOUR REVERSE LOCK OUT STILLS WORKS & IT LOOKS LIKE A FACTORY DID IT)

I Know it sounds Hard it is Really not & the Results look like Factory & U can put wat ever you want on.

By the way the Reverse Lock Out still works By Grabbing the Boot, Like In Picture.
(SPECIAL NOTE IS... LET YOUR FRIENDS OR ANY 1 FIGURE OUT HOW TO PUT IT REVERSE)
( Sorry for the Book)

Still Like to know how to get the shifter off in the cars WITHOUT the Reverse lock out...

I tried getting the cap off, didn't work.
Tried getting the boot to slide down off the knob, Didn't work...

What else is there?

The cap on our cars was a snap in. Not sure on yours, Should be the same! You have to remove the silver cap to remove the screw to remove shifter Knob To remove the boot!

you need to pull the black trim around the silver cap also that's what I did. The knob is the hard part. I used a hammer on the bottom side of the shift knob, don't do hard, real gentle knocks on the bottom. It'll eventually come off

Where'd you get the Momo knob from?
AND what holds it to the stock shifter??

I haven't taken my stock knob off, but does the stock or Momo thread on or what??

MOMOUSA.com Or Motorsportsmarketing.com & It has set screws that hold it!
