Stage 3 in GM catalogue

local dealership ran me off a photocopy when i was there today.

none of it is ground breaking news. but its good official info.

Also note: nothing stated about warranty.....the service guys couldnt tell me either way whether warranty is officially gone or not with it.
they are going to check with their performance division and get back to me.

but when I priced out the PCM by itself, the computer spat out a price over $900 canadian....

Can they really sell these parts for these prices without warranty? i mean, they arent stupid, they know we can buy stage 3 equivalent through aftermarket for way less.....maybe the price is reflecting some form of warranty coverage ala stage 2 (maybe with a nitrous no no clause)?

I dunno im just talkin out loud.

i think the fact that it says FOR OFF ROAD USE ONLY should be your first clue that your warranty is gone

those purdy blue headlights everyone puts in their cars are "for offroad use" too.

doesnt really mean anything, companies state that for liability reasons.

The reason GM has made this offroad only is because the kit wont allow the car to pass emission standards.

Thats not to say i think this kit is warrantied, but nothing on that page suggests it isnt covered just like stage 2 is.

Don't know if I'm ready to give up my AC. And look at those HP number. the Stage 1 to 2 promise up 50 HP right? So in sense this kit really does not make much power with out the NOS. And why would you Kill your warranty with this kit, when you can change the pully and HP tune and make the same power? Just my obs. Feel free to comment.

but if you do that, you are still gonna kill the warranty. unless you change it back to stage 2 before you bring it in for service

*shiny s/c pulley = no warranty.
i think one of the distributers makes one that looks like the stage 2 pulley, however is slightly smaller.. yeilding more hp, and fooling your tech

my thoughts exactly
which is what brought up the question in my mind.....Why would GM charge a fortune for a kit that can easily be duplicated cheaper and more effectively......

Theres only 2 possible answers.
*They have no clue, and will sell none of these kits. (would you pay $1900ca for it?)
*They are going to warranty it.

This is old news. It takes about 30 seconds to change the computer. The adjustable rev limiter is neat, and the HOM is nice. The instructions say it can be ran without the stage 3 pcm to retain the a/c.
I ran it with 60# injectors without issue. One day I'll log it to see how different it is. HPTuners won't scan it...yet.
Here are the instructions

It doesn't show with a VIN and the oil life % doesn't work with the stage 3 pcm. I don't think they'd notice the smaller pulley or the pcm unless they removed it.
