SS/SC Owners!

Hey guys. Rally Yellow or Victory Red Cobalt SS/SC and why???

I have a Bright Red Lumina Z34 the Cobalt is replacing, so I don't really want another red car, but Victory Red is very nice, plus it looks great with the Recaros which my car will have!

On the other hand the Rally Yellow is neat. It's very bright, and I'm scared to death I'll hate it after a month! What is it like to own???? What are peoples reactions when they see it????

98% of ppl who like my car like it in general, regardless of color. But I love the yellow, because it stands out among the crowd of black and red. I saw a red SS/SC w/ g85, not bad looking interior, but a yellow g85 would be HOT! I wish the g85 pkg. would come w/ color inserts for the door panels, big minus for me. Otherwise i'd have the recaros.

I saw a yellow in the showroom last week and it did look sharp but I really prefer my red one instead.

Red goes so well with the third brake light, brake lights and side marker lenses.

Red is a classic color, never goes out of style on cars. Beautiful on many sportscars. My favorite!

I liked the yellow a lot, but would prob get sick of such a vibrant color.

In the end you just have to go with what YOU want. Good Luck deciding, either way be glad you're getting a CobaltSS!

Yes sir!
Bright colored cars have higher insurance, higher risk of being pulled over, and a higher risk of being in a wreck. Before anyone wants to argue I did a bunch of data input at Farmers Insurance....

That depends on who sells your insurance. I drive a red car and pay the same amount as any other. As far as accidents, darker colors are more likely to be involved in them.

I saw a survey done at a New Zealand University that had the following findings (was in a Road & Track magazine, same one that the SS-SC beat the RSX Type-S in):

-Red cars are more likely to recieve traffic tickets than any other color.
-Silver cars are 50% less likely to be involved in a collision
- Black, Brown, and Dark Green are the most likely cars to be involved in an accident.

Guess that makes sense. Dark colors are hard to see at night, so get hit more. Brighter colors are much better for avoiding accident cause they are very visible.

Brighter colored cars are much safer!!!!

a hot pink cobalt, i hate to say it but you know someone will do it eventually. maybe not soon but look 5 or 6 years from now when we are trading ours on a new model, some kid will take one of our cars and paint it all up and make it japanese or something... i cringe just thinking about it. thats why i'm keeping mine even after its paid off

My dealer is trying to find out if I can get silver in Canada. He thinks it's wierd that you could get an 05/06 Cobalt SS-SC in "Ultra Silver Metallic" south of the border, but not here in Canada. It may just be a mistake in the printing of the dealer manuals. So if I can get silver, and go for it, I'll have the first Silver CObalt SS-SC.

Unfortunately, I suspect I wont be able to get silver on the car. Stupid GM!

Hope you can get it. Ultra Silver does look nice. It was third on my choice list. Victory Red, Black, or Ultra Silver. I just love red too much...

Thats really odd . I mean the Canadian version is made in the same plant on the same line . If ya cant get silver go red . Gm's bright red I think is possibly the best production red ever on a car . Couldnt do yellow , ever since Chevy built a million yellow Monte Carlos , all I can think of now is a big bloated yellow monte .

Good luck on the silver, I know when I bought my '05 the dealer looked into getting a silver for me as well, but came back and said that GM informed them that silver was not/and would not be an option for Canada. It may be different for '06's, so keep us posted on what color you end up with.

P.S. I ended up going with black and I voted for yellow as I think yellow with some nice black tint looks hot.
