I believe it was more personaly driven than that.

Having said that, I has stated that I will "Behave" more.

In return I ask this.. Many of the points that have been discussed here must get implemented in the very near future. It's needed here at SS.net

i agree with your first post Brian. i like your ideas and i feel your contributions are great, whether they be about our Cobalts, or your Mazda or Porsche. a lot of people here can learn from you without a doubt.

people have to know from signing onto a forum that people are, to a point, entitled to their opinion unless it comes to a personal matter. i've posted many a stupid answer to a stupid question a bunch of times, and the number of new threads on topics that have already been answered is pretty annoying, and a lot more frequent here than most of the other 12 forums i belong to, but i can't tell why it happens here so much more than other boards that have 2 or 3 times the members.

i agree that the moderation of this forum could be improved with thread merging and linking, etc. and would help improve the general population's experience here. the moderators must be sure to adhere to the same rules as everyone else because at times, certain actions have become seemingly personal and/or hypocritical.

to be honest with you, i don't know if it was a personal reason you got banned. i don't even know who banned you. i read on your post that you are going to behave better and that is all we are asking for. if you know who banned you i suggest you pm or im that mod or admin and get things straightened out. as far as how moderation in here could be better i would have to agree. nobody is perfect and there have been some instances where i could have handled it another way. any suggestions would be appreciated. i have had members pm on suggestions but every other word on his post was **** this or **** that so i simply ignored his suggestions. i had one member call me a commie just for telling him to not curse in his sig. some members just get out of hand after just one warning and they end up getting banned.

posts like this are not needed. all they do is stir up more **** than there is. BOTTOM LINE: brian got banned for 24 hours for bashing/flamming other members. regardless if you are a member, premium member, mod or admin that is not tollerated here.

If a Mod is called out, the Mod should answer the question
I don't think anyone of us would mind answering a question. We however request you submit them in the form of a PM rather than a thread.

You agree to the rules when you sign up, anyone who violates them (including moderators) are subject to penalty.

If you feel we are being unfair or too strict then that is something we can work on. We are open to discussion if it is brought forth in a appropriate manner.

You're right... this is a car forum... but it still doesnt give you or anyone else the right to degrade other people. I understand how things can get out of hand, let me assure you, this is the most “Fluffy” Forum I go to. Most people are calling people “Silly” or a “Ninny” here. You really have nothing to moderate here. Everyone simply gets along compared to other forums.
Good for you.
If you don't like this forum maybe you shouldn't participate.
Nobodies forcing you.

Bottom line is you violated the forum rules.... You were punished... and now you're crying about it like one of my kids.
How about instead of the world changing for you... Why don't you change your conduct ?

Bla Bla Stuff Bla..

A Typical reply that I would expect from you... Thanks for making it clear to me.

You have basically done nothing more than prove my point.

You have tried to cut up the validity of my post and it sure seems like a personal attack, noting more. You still haven’t really got it yet... what I was trying to say. You have read my post yet you didn't hear me. Up till now this thread has been a simple discussion and all of a sudden it turns a bit more hostile. So I can assume that it was in fact you that has been deleting posts?

Bottom line is this. The majority of the members seem to feel like I do that the current posture of Delete and hope that nobody is offended is simply not well received.

The Forum is made for adults. I will not speak for anyone but myself here, I can act like an adult, I feel that it is possible for all of us to do the same.

Do you not feel that deleting stuff is BS... How would you feel if someone deleted your ****...

Outie...

ExHondaMan,

He's not crying about anything, He's stating some things that caught his eye. And he was also only telling you that he does know a thing or two about moderating. He also never said he didn't like this forum. He said it was one of the fluffier sites he's been too. Infact, The way I read it, He likes this site.

Long Live

PS: If I get banned for this, So be it.

You are correct, Nobody is holding a gun to my head to post here. I enjoy reading about cars and helping if possible.

If you are trying to instigate a hostile reply from me, you will fail. I don't care anymore about fighting with you.

I would hardly call the tone of this thread crying.

I never said I expected the forum to change for me, I want the forum to change for "The Forum" many have said that they agree with most of the points I offered.

Ok Lets review some of the quality posts that have been deleted by moderators. These are posts in a thread where a members is asking about HIDs.

That thing looks like it's on stilts. I'd never claim to own it..

It's stuff like that which really creates a snowball effect on a questionable comment or post. First, a member posts something that creates a slight stir, then a Mod comes in with something like that and the situation escalates from there, but then the Mod blames it back to the original poster and whatever they said doesn't matter.

The bottom line is the member gets the penalty for something where they didn't cause the escalation, and that really stinks.

Welcome back, and I completely agree. The forum is heavily over-moderated and usually done so by non-specific moderators with personal grudges.

These forums are quite civil compared to others, yet are unnecessarily moderated so heavily?

Asking stupid questions is stupid. That's the kind of behaviour that shouldn't be encouraged. Stupid n00b questions brings the entire forum down...

"dood, wats teh top speed in yo Honda neon SS???"

Yes, that's the kind of topic that lead to an informative discussion, right?

Welcome back, Brian!

Zinner, I thought you would have come up with better post than that, that have been deleted. Regardless of how useless a post can be, someone still took the time to post and is more than likely somehow expressing themselves. Seems that the deleteing is in the wrong place. Delete the dupilcate threads or resolve the reason why that keeps happening. I have seen a few threads handled very well by mods simply coming and changing the direction or stated "keep on topic" and generally that works. This would be a much better approach than deleting a post.

Bring them, There are a couple more that you missed that I really found funny.

Basically, you are also trying to side step the point of the thread..

Get Back On Topic, What Are You Going To Do About The Issues Raised By The Members.

If you want me to speak on behalf of the posts that you have brouht up, you really have to post up all the other posts in between mine,

I was not alone in that thread
I was not the original instigator of that flamewar.

The Past is just that...

On another note, I really haven't had a problem with the moderation on this site, I have only seen it in effect for the best.
