How do I become a moderator - FAQ
Eligibility
Any member that goes above and beyond the call of duty to help others and make the community a better place for all.
Selection:
The moderating team selects new moderators based on need and the following criteria:
Join Date
Activity – visits daily, makes quality posts
Maturity
Rules - follows all rules, no (or few) prior warnings, infractions or bans. Clean posting history.
Professionalism / Respect
Reports Problems
Knowledgeable – Posses related knowledge and shares with others
Willingness to help others
We prefer that you do not ask to be a mod and let your actions do the talking. However if you strongly feel that you meet all the requirements listed above please contact us and let us know. We would be happy to have you onboard the moderating team!
Duties and Expectations:
Set an example for others
Be Active - Visit daily
Follow all site rules – Be friendly, fair, open mined. Treat all members with respect
Enforce the site rules
Help develop site rules
Answer PM’s
Move, edit, merge, split, stick, and close threads
Keep open communication with the team - issues, problems, upcoming absences
Keep administrative discussions confidential
Alert admin of any significant developments
Find and post related news and articles.
The above lists are by no means meant to be all inclusive, but to serve as a general guide. You will never be wrong if you follow the old saying: “Do onto others as you would have them do onto you”.
