Lightbulb How would I go about darkening my tail lights?

Hey I need some answers
How would I go about getting my tail lights darkened?
Ive seen people with various models of cars get it done.
Any suggestions?
Need to know the following:
-Cost
-Can I do it myself
-Is it smart to do it myself
-Where to get supplies
Thanks! !

there is 3 options really

1. niteshades- cheap, can be done by yourself, looks alright
2. professionally painted- most expensive, looks the best, any darkness you wish
3. tint- looks good, in the middle for price, removeable

smoked tail light overlay tint film covers Cobalt Sedan | eBay

Thats what I got worked perfect, I cant find one right now that looks like it has the 3rd brake light so you may have to nightshade that.

and they light up fine with stock tails (led reverse, 3rd b light disconnected)

Just be careful you don't get it too dark. I have to take mine off so I don't die. I've almost been hit multiple times. Goo gone Graffiti remover takes off the nightshade if you ever decide you don't like it.
